5 Things To Do This Summer in the Comox Valley

Summer is the most beautiful time of year in the Comox Valley. Who am I kidding? It’s actually beautiful all year-round! That being said, there’s a wide variety of outdoor activities, downtown shopping and events to choose from, all while enjoying the warmth of the summer sunshine. There really is something for everyone!

I’ve compiled a list of 5 of great summer activities to enjoy in the Comox Valley.

Mount Washington Alpine Resort

Mount Washington is known as a great spot to ski and snowboard in the winter months, but there is also fun to be had all summer! Check out the popular Bike Park, which is a fun activity with your family. And if biking isn’t your thing, there’s a new ZipTour experience coming to Mount Washington this summer! The lower half of the ZipTour is projected to open in July with the full tour projected to open in August. If you’re looking for a less intense activity, take a nice, mellow ride on a scenic chairlift! The views from the top of the mountain are incredible and offer some of the world’s best panoramas!

BC Seafood Festival

The BC Seafood Festival is a must-visit event in the Comox Valley. The festival runs from June 7th to 16th – it’s the largest seafood festival in Western Canada! There are 10 days of scheduled events including whale watching, cycle tours and of course plenty of seafood tasting! This is definitely an event that you don’t want to miss.

Saragota Speedway

The Saragota Speedway is certainly a family-favourite! You can’t go wrong with go-kart and monster truck rides by day and drag racing by night. Plus, an array of other activities scheduled throughout the summer.

Golfing

Who doesn’t love golfing on a sunny summer morning? Crown Isle is an award-winning platinum rated golf course in an incredible resort setting AND has even more incredible real estate offerings. Other great courses to hit the links include Sunnydale in Courtenay and the Comox Golf Club and Glacier Greens, both located in Comox.

Wine & Distillery Tours

Everyone flocks to the Okanagan for wine and distillery tours each summer, but did you know the Comox Valley is home to some beautiful wineries and distilleries as well? Here are some of the top local wineries & distilleries:

Beaufort Vineyard & Estate Winery
Blue Moon Winery
40 Knots Winery
Wayward Distillation House
Shelter Point Distillery

In addition to these great artisan beverage producers, the Comox Valley is also a craft beer hotspot! Try a citrus-infused, hazy Pale Ale or sample a clean, crisp Pilsner on the summer patio at the following breweries:

Gladstone Brewing
Land and Sea Brewery
Forbidden Brewing
Cumberland Brewing
• Aces Brewery coming soon!
• New Tradition Brewing coming soon!

These are only a few of the incredible adventures you can embark on while visiting the Comox Valley… and who knows, maybe you’ll love it so much you’ll want to stay! If you’re interested looking at some properties, call me at 250-792-2776 or email tvincentrealty@gmail.com today!
